Acupuncture and Acupressure – Healing of Pain




Acupuncture and Acupressure are both methods used to invigorate acupoints. For comparison, acupuncture uses a thin needle to stimulate an acupoints where as acupressure uses a settled pressure to massage the acupoints.

Acupressure and acupuncture are similar in lot of ways. Both are considered consolidate forms of medical therapy when used on their own to treat medical conditions and as complimentary medicine they both are used in combination with traditional medicine.  Both acupuncture and acupressure originate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which is based on the thought that the body’s vital energy flows through meridian points (The point’s channels of energy in the body called meridians) on the body that connect to various organs.

14 meridian points on the body, stimulates with the help of acupressure and acupuncture which believers of TCM say can relieve pain, treat physiological disorders and clear any blockage of life energy so as to rehabilitate the body’s yin and yang. (The omnipresent yin-yang symbol holds its roots in Taoism/Daoism, a Chinese religion and philosophy. The yin, the dark swirl, is associated with shadows and femininity, ; the yang, the light swirl, represents brightness, passion and growth)

Both of methods are nearly pain free and can be used to treat a number of ailments including allergies, depression and foot problems, anxiety, arthritis, nausea, headaches and migraines and pain like bunions, corns, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs and neuromas. It is said that the ancient methods have the ability to ease uncomfortable conditions by affecting hormone, the immune system and neurotransmitters in the body.

Deep-tissue massage, laser acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and more, are some other common therapeutic methods used to stimulate acupoints includes.
